Summer Training for High School & College Players
Summer is where real development happens. The season exposes your strengths and weaknesses—this is the time to build, fix, and separate. At Cutternation in San Diego, our summer program is designed for serious high school and college players who want measurable results. This is a 7-day-a-week training system built around throwing, strength, speed, arm care, and live competition, with full access to Trackman, HitTrax, Spinball machines, water bags, tidal tanks, med balls, strength equipment, and video analysis. Every rep is tracked. Every session has purpose.
Pitchers follow a structured weekly plan built to increase velocity, sharpen command, and develop durable, high-performing arms. The program includes 2–3 high intent throwing days with long toss and velocity work, 2–3 bullpens focused on execution and pitch design using Trackman data, and full integration of strength and performance training. Lower body power, upper body stability, and full-body explosiveness are trained throughout the week using proven methods and tools. Daily arm care and recovery are built in to handle increased workload, while weekly live at-bats give pitchers the opportunity to compete and translate their work into real results against hitters.
Hitters train with a system built on consistency first, then power. Throughout the week, players get high-level reps using HitTrax and advanced machines to track exit velocity, contact quality, and approach. Training is designed to improve timing, barrel control, and decision-making against game-speed pitching. Strength and performance work is integrated to build rotational power, bat speed, and overall athleticism using med balls, water bags, and explosive training. Hitters also compete in live at-bats and structured game environments each week, ensuring their development shows up when it matters.
Catchers are developed as complete players with an emphasis on defense, arm strength, mobility, and leadership. Their weekly structure includes throwing progressions, positional work for blocking, receiving, and footwork, and a full strength program to build durability and power. Catchers also train offensively within the same hitting system, focusing on consistent contact and power output. Live at-bats and game situations are a key part of development, allowing catchers to manage pitchers, control the game, and build confidence in real environments.
